2011 Review ~ There may be a test!

Frosty Morn ~ January 2011

When I started snapping pictures of this sunshiny
moment, I wasn't sure what to
expect.  I liked the overwhelming light infusion here.  Too
 bad the poor plant
looks so thirsty.

The sun rises on an spring snowstorm.

I came out of Home Depot in Helena, running an errand for parts.  I caught my breath when I saw the sky.  If God was passing judgement on this seemingly ordinary day with a spectacular sunset, then I thought I should to take a few moments to appreciate it.

This was taken on a Sunday morning.  We had gone to Helena to clean out the renter's garage.   It's in an older part of town with old buildings that have a lot of character.  The garage project was a terrible mess and took  two weekend trips to Helena to complete.  I made trip after trip to Helena Industries and the Salvation Army, unloading bag after bag of clothing, furniture, mattresses and books.
We had camped out on the floor of the rental overnight, and didn't have furniture, so I meandered outside while my hair was drying.  The sun was coming up brightly, the air was refreshing, and this bright old truck parked by the old garage seemed especially picturesque against the backdrop of the green leaves.  It seemed to me a colorful addition to the quiet anticipation of the approaching hour of worship.

 Biking ~ Wapiti, Wyoming.  Hard
work makes these moments of pure fun,
fresh air, and Mother Nature on the North Fork,
especially welcome.

 A smiling welcome to Arizona.

Yes, this was Chandler, Arizona.
  Yes, we were painting
Duane's house in the heat of the day.
Yes, we were thankful that
 it was only 100 degrees
outside that week.

Wishing you a happy, healthy, 2012!

Hope it's awesome!

Leaving Helena, Montana after a delay to fix a heater and a faucet at our duplex, with scandalously expensive parts from Rock Hand Hardware...

"We should have gone to Home Depot!"

"Next time we will be bringing the faucet parts along with us!" (as well as the heating tool case...)
 "$11 for $4 of faucet stems...Outrageous!"

The plumber was indignantly protesting a case of highway robbery, an event that would be rehearsed at least twice more during the next couple of days to anyone who was willing to listen.

My happy mood couldn't be spoiled.  A cloudless day, traveling along an amazing corridor of Montana...the sun  shining, blue sky setting off the frost and snow covered panorama unrolling before us, all combined to lift my spirits.

In this picture I was entranced with the depth of field I was attempting to capture at
                                                     75 miles per hour!

And it just gets bigger and better!

Yet another gorgeous winter view!
